Last Days of Warmth

IMG_1570

I was lugging around a fairly heavy backpack yesterday for marathon study hours (course readers! books! laptop!), so I chose to wear something I could just throw on and forget. No zippers, no buttons, no muss, no fuss.

Dress: Light pink summer dress, Monteau Los Angeles.

Shoes: Chocolate brown loafers, Nine West.

Layers! Layers are starting to make sense again!

As you may have noticed, better picture quality for outfit posts! I’ve switched over to my handheld instead of relying on my smartphone for my photo needs. I love my Moto X, but I don’t want my camera gathering dust because I am unable to take it out to play with it (school is hectic)! This is one way to keep it in working condition. Anyway, here’s my take on basic layering for the days when Toronto mornings are cool, but the late afternoons are scorching hot!

(*The numbered theme on today’s outfit was totally unintentional, I promise!)

Top: Light grey cotton tee, Twentyone, thrifted.

Cardigan: Black cotton long-sleeved cardigan, Thirtythree.

Shorts: Grey buttoned shorts, XXI, thrifted.

The Season of Oversized Sweaters: Fall is Officially Here!

Today’s outfit was built around my boyfriend’s sweater, which is oversized on my usually size S frame! He had lent me the sweater last night after we went out and I forgot to bring a coat on a brisk, windy night (thank you, my love!). On a side note, I must say that these boots really make my walks around the massive UofT campus a lot more forgiving than they usually would be.

Top: Black San Andreas shirt, Rockstar Games.

Sweater: Oversized green sweater, The Gap.

Shorts: Blue denim cut-off shorts, Harlow, thrifted, and sheer black stockings.

Boots: Beige combat boots with a pink accent, JustFab.

Accessories: Gold watch, Guess, and gold-wire wrapped pink and white coral on a long chain, Roxy.

Bootin’ it up!

Today I went with a classic silhouette: skinny jeans tucked into fitted, calf-length boots and a simple sweater. I went with gold-toned accessories; I’ve been on a gold kick with regards to accessories recently, ever since I figured out how much the colour flattered my skin tone. Overall, this outfit was so comfortable I didn’t even mind the long-ish walk in the brisk wind from the train station to my class!

Top: Grey v-necked cotton blend sweater, Banana Republic.

Jeans: Dark wash denim skinnies, Forever 21.

Boots: Black leather calf-length boots, Blondo. (The snug fit on my calves makes this a wonderfully flattering, leg-lengthening pair!)

Accessories: White and gold bib necklace, Forever 21, and gold watch, Guess.

Sweater Weather

I have found that it’s best to be dressed for comfort when staying in a coffee shop for hours, going over readings and taking notes.

Sweater: Heather grey pullover, repping UofT!

Leggings: Plain black leggings, I-N-C International Concepts.

Shoes: Beige combat boots with a pink accent, JustFab.

It’s still technically Summer, but it already feels like Autumn!
